Cybernetics International College of Technology

Cybernetics International College of Technology started in 1994 as a training provider known as Cybernetics Training Centre (CTC). On 16th September 1997, CTC was approved by the Private Education Department, Ministry of Education to be a private higher education institute (PHEI) and known as Cybernetics Institute of Technology (CIT). On 4th July 2000, the Ministry approved the name change to Cybernetics College of Technology. In line with the development and progress of the College, 12 February 2004 saw the name changed to Cybernetics International College of Technology.

Cybernetics International College of Technology was established to play its parts in the country development efforts through Vision 2020 and National Education Policy. Cybernetics International College of Technology fulfills the need for quality training and higher education provider in developing highly skilled workforce and educated school leavers. In preparing the professional workers, CICT specializes in areas of business management, computer science, information technology, communication, and multimedia.

Besides the above programmes, Cybernetics International College of Technology is also registered with Human Resource Development Corporation in training the skilled workforce for industry needs through short courses in the area of business management, computer science, and information technology.

Among the main education partners of Cybernetics International College of Technology are Universiti Putra Malaysia and Southern Cross University, Australia. CICT is also aware of knowledge and technology of the MNC such as Microsoft Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Telekom Malaysia, MIMOS, ORACLE, Intel etc. Cooperation network (student practical training) is established with the RTM, UTM, Royal Custom Department, Immigration Department, District / Land Offices, Local Government / Town Councils, INTAN and BERNAMA. A lot of technology, methodology, idea, software, practical training, and skill exchanges take place through cooperation between Cybernetics International College of Technology and the partners. Local and international industry and business organisations whether large or small are CICT partners. Their staff and management participate in skill courses at CICT.

Students and Academic Pathways – Normally, SPM school leavers joint the diploma programmes. Those who have diploma, STPM, Matriculation, or other equivalent and approved qualifications can joint the study programmes at bachelor level. Students at Cybernetics International College of Technology are of diverse background, ethnics, religions, economy, states, and countries. CICT has students who come from Sabah, Sarawak, Perlis – Johor, and other countries. Until now, almost 3,000 students have successfully completed their study at diploma or bachelor levels. Currently 1,500 students are still in their programmes of study. Based on previous new student intakes, Cybernetics International College of Technology is expected to gain additional 500 – 1,000 new students yearly.
