University College of Technology and Innovation (UCTI)

Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology started in 1993 in response to the Malaysian Government's initiative to address the critical shortage of IT professionals in Malaysia and the region. Initially operating from Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, APIIT has continually worked toward the vision and strategy of the Malaysian Government for 2020 by filling the national need for technology professionals at all levels.

Since then the Institute has grown from being a successful local player in Malaysia to an established major regional player, with activities and overseas centres in Karachi and Lahore, Pakistan; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Panipat, India; and Perth, Australia.

University College of Technology and Innovation was established when Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology was officially awarded University College status by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, in 2004. The new Asia Pacific University College of Technology and Innovation is now called UCTI for short.

The cornerstone of UCTI success is the value we place on our strong relationships with partner universities and leading industry players. UCTI strategic and corporate partnerships support the university's involvement in industry and commercial growth which in turn improve the quality of research and education we provide to our students.

Through UCTI associate institution, APIIT, UCTI also has a presence in Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India, giving you great flexibility in study options and locations. Through this regional network, UCTI assure you of comparability in academic standards and overall study experience regardless of where you study.

University College of Technology and Innovation have established a number of joint ventures aimed at providing UCTI with distribution and support channels for our commercialised R&D innovations, and providing interactive and e-learning solutions to organisations in the Asia Pacific region.

Through these partnerships, UCTI are able to fully realise the commercial potential of our R&D innovations and to leverage on our own skills-base to participate in developing industry-strength solutions to current issues.
